Sam | Captain | Director
My name is Sam Schwartz, Owner & CEO of Blacksail Productions. My vision has always been to produce movies and content that make a difference in people’s lives, and the world. My love for filmmaking all started when I was 14 and I picked up my first skateboard. I was so enveloped in the culture that I wanted to capture it in some way, so I picked up my first camera to go along with it. My love for action branched out into the automotive space, and the rest is history.
Wes | Master at Arms
Wes Wan Heest, an experienced director of photography with a demonstrated history of working in the telecommunications industry. Skilled in Camera Operation, Lighting, Management, Television, Documentary and more. Strong operations professional with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) focused in Communication and Media Production from William Paterson University of New Jersey.
Alec | Armorer
I'm Alec Nguyen, born and raised in LA and now residing NYC. Started off as a photographer 11 years ago for the same reason a lot of others did. Capturing moments. Photojournalism was what started it all and I slowly branched into all type of other types of photography and cinematography. As years have gone by I’ve focused more on small business campaigns and commercials. My goal is to always bring authentic ideas to the table and make sure my work is always raw, relatable, fun and genuine within the Blacksail Crew.
Nick | Quartermaster
Hello my name is Nick, and I am an accountant. My journey through the production industry has been quite unexpected. Having spent 5 years and 3 kidneys on a college education, helped me learn exactly what I didn’t want to be doing for the rest of my life… accounting…
From a young age I fell in love with cinema and gaming and learned the art of storytelling, immersion, and cinematic excellence by analyzing thousands of titles. This passion helped steer me into the production industry, and rapidly brought me from my job as an accountant to a editor for a massive wedding studio. Here I internalized the styles and techniques evolving and adapting them into a style of my own. All it took was full sending my strengths and passions to earn me a seat as Blacksail’s Quartermaster.
Neo | Navigator
Hi, my name is Neo and I'm from Lithuania. What started as a study in Fine Arts transitioned to graphic design when I moved to the US. I'm what you might call the Lithuanian Army knife for our clients - serving as a photographer, cinematographer, editor, graphic designer, and product development. I've worked on ~10 film sets driving docuseries production. I thrive in environments that are ambiguous and fast-paced that require teams to deliver a mission through all means of creative flexibility. I am driven by finding beauty in the roughest and most obscure of places and in crafting stories from what might be considered inconsequential moments. I am an avid motorcyclist and my love for adventure as brought me around the world a couple of times over. These interests and experiences have earned me the title of Navigator within the Blacksail Crew.
Antonio | Musician
As a young child I've always expressed my creative side. Whether it was playing piano, or making videos of my friends playing soccer. I started photography when I was 15, assisting my cousin in wedding photography. It was then, I first realized how passionate I was for photography. Through the years, I would grow into different aspects of photography by shooting sporting events, weddings, and many more portrait based photoshoots. It wasn't until I was about 19 that I started to photograph cars and develop a reputation for myself my creative moody edits. I would later graduate to filmography in the automotive space and that led me to BlackSail where I am surrounded by talented people that make waking up everyday to go to work a pleasant experience.
