Blacksail Productions recently took on a truly massive project - providing full video coverage for the Queen of the World pageant. The project involved filming the events leading up to the main pageant, editing daily videos, and publishing them for worldwide viewing online, and running a pay-per-view event on the day of the pageant.
Our team had to go hands-on to get the job done, from setting up server connections and payment systems to coordinating wireless and wired camera connections and utilizing specialized equipment such as Holyland audio wireless headsets and Mars series video transmitters. We even had the chance to compare equipment brands, with the rental Terradeck standing out.
The Queen of the World pageant is an international competition featuring young women from around the world who come together to showcase their talents and personalities. The pageant has become a significant event, with many people tuning in from all over the world to watch the competition unfold. It
was a great honor for us to be entrusted with the responsibility of capturing this event for all those who could not be there in person.
The event itself took place over three days leading up to the main pageant, with our team working tirelessly to capture every moment. Each day, we had to edit the footage and publish it online for the audience to view and follow the event from anywhere in the world. This was no small feat, as it required working under intense time pressure to ensure that everything was edited, uploaded, and published on time.
On the day of the main pageant, we were tasked with playing event graphics, media, and running the pay-per-view live event. This included everything from setting up server connections and backup servers to coordinating wireless and wired camera connections, laptops, and more. We faced a few network issues and wireless interferences, but with our team's perseverance and dedication, we were able to resolve the issues and deliver a seamless live experience to our viewers.
The pageant commenced on March 12th, with the founder, Alice Lee Giannetta, and co-emcee and Broadway star Chris Stevens taking the stage. It was truly an incredible event, with Broadway stars from the Jersey Boys performing as the musical guests. Our team worked tirelessly behind the scenes, ensuring that the video and audio quality was perfect, and the pay-per-view system was running smoothly.
"MY most memorable thing that happened at this event was seeing the team work so flawlessly together. We had multiple cameras on tripods getting different panning angles, we had another camera on stage with a gimbal tracking all of the contestants walking in, and our livestream that we designed from the ground up worked flawlessly." - Sam S.
It was a massive undertaking, but our team's efforts paid off, and we were able to provide a seamless experience for all those who were unable to attend the event in person. The experience was truly rewarding for us, and we are proud to have been a part of such a significant event. We look forward to the opportunity to take on more challenging projects in the future, to deliver quality video coverage for events that matter to people all over the world.
