Creating Engaging Content for Aprilia: A Unique Motorcycle Rally Experience
As a small production company based in Long Island, NY, we were thrilled to embark on a year-long project with the prestigious Piaggio Group Americas. Our latest assignment took us on an unforgettable adventure through the rugged terrains of New Mexico and Colorado, where we had the privilege of capturing the Aprilia Tuareg off-road adventure motorcycle in action.
The 2024 Aprilia Tuareg US spec is a formidable machine designed to conquer any off-road challenge. With its powerful engine, advanced suspension, and cutting-edge technology, the Tuareg stands out from the competition. Its versatility allows riders to effortlessly transition from paved roads to demanding trails, making it the perfect companion for adventurous souls.
We did daily recap videos for social media, and then this longer video.
Our Team and Equipment
To capture the essence of this thrilling journey, our team assembled a formidable arsenal of equipment. We relied on a mix of cameras, including the A74, FX3s, A7S3, and two DJI Osmo Pocket 3s with Mov Max Blade Arm. Zach, a skilled FPV drone pilot, provided aerial perspectives using his DJI FPV drone and gimbal. Neo focused on photography and extracting stills from video footage, while Nick served as the primary videographer, primarily using the handheld A7S3 and controlling the Pocket 3s for rolling shots.

The MovMax Blade Arm allowed us to achieve dynamic and immersive shots, with a difficult terrain and limited space for equipment. We had suction cup failures, damage to Pocket 3s but we got the shots.

Overcoming Challenges in the Wild
While our adventure was filled with breathtaking scenery and exhilarating experiences, we also encountered our fair share of challenges. The remote nature of our location meant limited cell phone signal, making communication difficult at times. Additionally, unexpected snowfall in the high mountains forced us to adjust our route and navigate changing conditions. These obstacles tested our adaptability and problem-solving skills, but they also added to the overall adventure.
The Limitations of Fixed Lenses
One of the limitations we faced was the fixed lenses on the DJI Osmo Pocket 3s. While these cameras offered exceptional image quality, their wide-angle lenses were not always ideal for capturing the riders in close-up shots while driving the bikes. This forced us to be creative and find alternative angles to showcase the Tuareg's capabilities.

Despite the challenges we encountered, our experience filming the Aprilia Tuareg was truly unforgettable. We captured stunning footage of riders exploring the rugged landscapes of New Mexico and Colorado, showcasing the bike's versatility and performance. The content we created will be used by Aprilia throughout the year, helping to promote this exceptional off-road adventure motorcycle.
